Jump in and join our enthusiastic core\nteam to craft completely new things for the maritime industry. The core team\u2019s\nultimate mission is to make greener future for the shipping industry using\nmachine learning and the smart controls. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We also acknowledge that our task is not easy and therefore\ncustomer collaboration is of utmost importance and essence to succeed. In\npractice this means working with, listening, and learning from the numerous\nsubject matter experts in the maritime sector. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Here are some qualities we are looking for:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Highly motivated, outgoing, and creative\nindividual who really believes work can be fun.<\/li><li>Passionate to improve and adapt the today\u2019s\ntechnologies for a better, greener, tomorrow.<\/li><li>Enjoy venturing with new technologies and not\nat all afraid of creating something completely new what hasn\u2019t been done\nbefore.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Your responsibilities will be:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>To understand the big picture and work with\nSMEs to arrive at business case.<\/li><li>To quickly visualize and test hypothesis based\non data for a given problem.<\/li><li>To design, develop and optimize predictive data\nmodels to a given problem that can save costs, increase sustainability, create\nmore revenue, or simply create completely new revenue streams.<\/li><li>To question the status-quo of an existing\nindustry practices and lead it into new greener waters.<\/li><li>To analyze data and develop algorithms to\nprocess, assess and clean data.<\/li><li>To collaborate with diversely skilled core team\nand come up with ideas for installing new sensors and IIoT infrastructure\ncomponents for identified problem.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Keys to success in this role:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Master\/PhD in STEM subjects or equivalent.<\/li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication\nskills in English. German and Finnish is a bonus but working language is\nEnglish.<\/li><li>A good understanding of software best practices\n(versioning (GIT), profiling, clean code (PEP standards), debugging etc.) as\nwell as ML techniques (data cleaning, preprocessing, feature engineering and\nhyper parameter tuning etc.).<\/li><li>A good handle on ML\/DL methods for time-series\nprediction\/forecasting.<\/li><li>3-4 year field experience in data science or an\nequivalent outstanding academic record.<\/li><li>Strong programming background (Python\npreferred) and ability to write queries for SQL and NoSQL databases.<\/li><li>Good experience in building Data models for new\nbusiness domain from production quality data with high throughput, veracity and\nverity with no or limited access to existing reference data models.<\/li><li>Good understanding of popular ML Frameworks (i.e.\nTensorFlow, Apache Spark etc ) and varied managed ML services offered by\nAzure\/AWS\/GCP etc. providers.<\/li><li>Ability to understand the big picture in the\noverall architecture on how the varied data set, data models fit it to solve a\nbusiness problem. <\/li><li>Good interpersonal and teamwork skills with\nability to work in international team.<\/li><li>Helps: Experience in working with Scrum.<\/li><li>Plus: Experience in cloud technologies\n(preferably Azure) is seen as a big bonus.<\/li><li>Big plus: Experience in working with\noperational data sets of IIoT or Smart building environment.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What we offer:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We offer you a flexible and safe hybrid office environment, competitive salary, and a front seat for watching and defining the shape of ocean going vessels in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please send us your application<strong>&nbsp;in English<\/strong>, including your salary expectations and earliest possible starting date.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Data Scientist Are you passionate about energy efficiency and sustainability?
