The core team’s ultimate mission is to improve the overall sustainability of shipping by the means of machine learning and the smart controls implemented thereof.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • You develop technical solutions primarily for back-end to match the requested functional and non-functional requirements.
  • You develop an AI platform, connected to number of external data sources and sensors, built on MS Azure IoT Edge RT.
  • You develop methods to achieve information dominance by leveraging data from IoT devices, third-party data feeds, in-house data stores, cloud systems and many other channels.

Keys to success in this role:

  • Bachelor/Master in STEM subjects or comparable.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in the field of software business and development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. German and Finnish is a bonus but working language is English.
  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills with ability to work in international team.
  • In depth experience with MS Azure IoT Stack( i.e. IoT Edge, IoT Hub, Streaming, Analytics etc.) with Microservices architecture.
  • Practical know-how about IoT, IIoT and cloud architectures and affinity towards good code culture and scalable designs.
  • Strong experience with DevOps and some of its tools
  • Experience with any of below is considered a Plus:
    • Additional programing languages like Python and Java
    • Varied databases:  RDBMS – PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server etc. NoSQL – MongoDB etc. Experience with time Series database would be considered a plus.
    • API based designs and familiarity of JS based UI frameworks i.e. vue.
    • Apache Hadoop and the Hadoop ecosystem.
    • One, or more, relevant tools (Sqoop, Flume, Kafka, Oozie, Hue, Zookeeper, HCatalog, Solr, Avro).
    • One, or more, Big Data Technologies such as (Hive, Impala, Spark SQL, and Presto).
    • Stream-processing systems: Spark-Streaming, etc.
    • Data Streaming & Analytics with Azure IoT Edge platform.
    • Developing application with Asynchronized Message Queue notification, e.g MQTT
    • AI/ML concepts and technologies.
    • Scrum and continuous integration systems.
    • Supporting the Scrum team as Scrum Master.
